Banggeut Privacy Policy

Banggeut is a private parenting diary app that helps parents preserve a child's growth moments through photos, short videos, diary entries, anniversaries, and growth records. We publish this Privacy Policy to explain how we handle personal information and respond to related inquiries.

Records created without signing in are stored on the user's device by default. When the user signs in with Google or Apple and runs sync, information required for sync may be stored in Firebase.

1. Personal Information We Collect or Process

Banggeut may process the following information to provide the app.

Account and sign-in information

Firebase Authentication user identifier (UID)
Email address and profile information provided during Google or Apple sign-in
In-app nickname, account creation and update timestamps, and auth provider information

Baby profile information

Baby name, caregiver nickname, D-day type, and D-day date
Baby profile identifier, profile member identifier, role, and join timestamp

Diary and media information

Diary date, title, content, weather, photo card sentences, creation and update timestamps
Photos, thumbnails, up to 10-second saved video clips, video posters, and muted preview videos selected by the user
Video editing information such as selected clip range, frame position, crop area, and media dimensions

Growth record information

Growth report photos and thumbnails
Measurements entered by the user, such as height, weight, foot size, and measurement date
Growth notes entered by the user, such as likes, dislikes, first moments, and memos

Sync and service operation information

Last sync timestamp, sync state, server update timestamp, and deletion marker timestamp
Minimum service processing information required for error handling, security, and abuse prevention

Advertising and SDK data

Banggeut displays Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) native ads in the My tab. Depending on SDK settings and the user's device state, the advertising SDK may automatically collect and process an IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), app interactions, advertising, device or account identifiers, and diagnostic or performance information. This information may be processed to provide ads, measure advertising and service performance, prevent fraud, and maintain security. It may be transferred internationally within Google's service-provider operations.

2. Purposes of Processing Personal Information

User identification, sign-in state maintenance, nickname registration, and account management
Providing core app features such as photos, videos, diaries, calendar, D-day, and growth reports
Syncing the same baby profile and records across multiple devices and allowing registered editor accounts to write together
Compressing, cropping, thumbnailing, and saving selected photos and videos for app records
Processing by the advertising SDK to provide native ads, measure ad performance, and maintain service security
Responding to privacy inquiries, complaints, disputes, and maintaining service stability

3. Retention Period

Account information: until account deletion, withdrawal, or a personal data deletion request
Synced baby profiles, diaries, photos, videos, and growth records: until the owner deletes them or an applicable deletion request is processed
Membership information: until the user leaves the baby, the owner removes the membership, or account deletion is processed
Deleted synced data: may be retained for a limited period to sync deletion across devices and prevent restoration. The current server cleanup guideline is up to 90 days after deletion is marked.
Local on-device data: may remain on the device until the user deletes it in the app or removes the app
Advertising SDK data: may be processed and retained according to Google's advertising service policies, SDK settings, and applicable retention rules
Information that must be retained by law: retained for the period required by applicable law

4. Third-Party Disclosure and Outsourcing

Banggeut does not sell personal information or provide it to third parties as a rule. Personal information may be processed when required by law, with separate user consent, or within the scope necessary to provide the following external services.

Google Firebase: authentication, Firestore data storage and sync, and Firebase Storage media storage
Google Sign-In: sign-in with a Google account
Sign in with Apple: sign-in with an Apple account
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): native ad delivery and related SDK data processing

5. International Transfer

Banggeut uses global cloud services such as Firebase and Google Mobile Ads. When the user uses sync or advertising features, personal information and advertising SDK data may be stored or processed on infrastructure operated by overseas service providers including Google LLC. The transferred information is limited to information required for sync, ad delivery, and measurement among the categories described in this policy, and it is retained according to this policy and Google's applicable policies and settings.

6. Deletion Procedures and Methods

Banggeut deletes personal information without delay when the retention period expires or the processing purpose has been achieved. Electronic files are deleted in a way that makes recovery difficult. Local data stored on the device can be removed through in-app deletion features or by uninstalling the app.

Users who want to delete their synced account and server data may request deletion from the account deletion menu in the app settings. If using the app is difficult, users may also contact the privacy officer by email. After verifying the request and reviewing applicable legal requirements, we will process deletion of the Firebase Authentication account, user document, nickname, synced baby profiles, diaries, photos, videos, and growth records.

7. Rights of Data Subjects and Legal Representatives

Data subjects may request access, correction, deletion, or suspension of processing of personal information at any time. Requests may be sent to the privacy officer by email, and Banggeut will respond without delay in accordance with applicable law.

Banggeut is designed for parents or guardians to enter records about a child. Requests regarding a child's information may be made by the guardian who entered the information or by a lawful legal representative.
